Q: What is the MDClone Research and Data Science Center?
A: The MDClone Research and Data Science Center is geared toward collaborating with users, both in Israel and around the world, to implement research ideas that require advanced data science capabilities, including supporting cross-organizational use cases. Through the Center, we will define, educate, and promote research methodologies with our MDClone solution offering.
To validate our growing portfolio of algorithmic solutions, we will conduct independent research projects focused on synthetic data generation and advanced capabilities like calculated events.
Q: Tell us about your background.
A: I am originally a computational chemist, but I found my true calling in data science. My healthcare knowledge comes from almost five years of working at MDClone as a Senior Data Scientist, during which time I have had the opportunity to collaborate with dozens of clinicians and medical researchers. I have gained a lot of experience working with healthcare data and performing data-driven projects.
Q: Where does the knowledge come from within the Center?
A: One of the benefits of the Center is working closely with our customers’ scientific leadership to leverage our combined, advanced data science capabilities and knowledge. Expertise within the Center comes from those who work at MDClone and from those who work with MDClone. We will continue to grow our knowledge, best practices, and methodologies in order to refine and apply that expertise more broadly.
Q: Who will benefit from this initiative?
A: I believe all our customers and their patients will benefit from the MDClone Research and Data Science Center, but our hope is the impact will be carried over to the broader medical community, worldwide.
Q: What types of research projects will be conducted through the Center?
A: We will focus on projects that leverage and validate our solutions (e.g., synthetic data). Relying on advanced algorithmic principles, our products are attractive to advanced users, pharma and life sciences organization, and cross-organizational research projects.
Q: What are the first projects being conducted through the Center?
A: We are already currently conducting two projects aimed at validating some of our algorithmic solutions with clinicians at two of the leading hospitals in Israel. In addition, we are contributing to a few high-profile clinical studies in oncology.
